For those of you who currently visit this site, you may have noticed a silence since August. I should reassure you that Rusted is not dead. However, I launched both Rusted and MADNESS AND INSANITY at the same time, and MADNESS AND INSANITY, being a little more visible, took priority over this story.

I will be returning to Rusted shortly, and may adjust the format from a once-a-week comic to a once-a-month comic. If I do that, however, each update will be a few pages long. Not just one.

Hang around for a bit longer, though. This story will be relaunched in due time. I have no desire to see it wither.

And now we have page 3, the first new page since Rusted was previewed over on Raptor13.com. I can honestly say that GenCon (and BlizzCon upcoming) have definitely put a delay in my schedule, so I’m hoping I can keep on track as things settle down.

Having to move from my apartment to a house doesn’t help matters any, and even that’s compounded by being sick (I think I caught something amongst the gamers at GenCon). But I’ll get it worked out.

This page begins to show us the deeper story involved in this world. We get a faint glimpse into some of the history between SAM and the Reclaimer, and we also hear more about the mysterious “Builders.” And G.O.D.? What’s that about?

Page 4 is on track for next week, and it will give us our first clear look at the Reclaimer, and it may even knock SAM down a peg or two.

Today begins my week and a half “VacationCon” vacation! Yes, starting this afternoon I drive up to Indianapolis to enjoy all four days of GenCon, geek out with some friends and complete strangers, and overall just immerse myself in the creativity of the tabletop hobby gaming industry. Yeah, it’ll be great.

After that I return here, move from my apartment to a house, and then fly out to California to attend BlizzCon! Needless to say, this vacation’s going to be exhausting. But I’ll enjoy the crap out of it!

About page two here; as with page one, this was publically previewed over on Raptor13.com, my personal portfolio page. However, in order to try and keep it fresh, I adjusted the dialogue to help better tell the story elements that are revealed in pages three and four. So you can consider this page “sort of new.”

And about page three? It’s done and written to my satisfaction. You’ll see that in one week!

I figured I’d go ahead and launch Rusted with a bang! Those of you who have come here from my personal portfolio site at Raptor13.com will recognize this page, but you may notice that the text is different. Due to the “test page” nature of what I put up on Raptor13, the script was never finalized for those pages. Thus, what you see here is the final text.

I also rewrote page 2 as well, so come back next week to see that revision.

My intention is to keep Rusted updated weekly, as I’m trying to stay roughly three to four pages ahead in the story. As it stands, I have all the pages for August nearly completed.
