Rusted is the reinterpretation of a story that began years ago. Back then, the idea was completely cartoony, with bright characters and silly names. It told the tale of a group of rusted old robots fighting for their very survival against the newer, shinier ‘bots. The main character was a silent “every-bot,” modeled more after a faceless video game hero than a comic character.

What you see on these pages is a revamping of that concept. The core premise of “fighting against obsolescence” is still intact, but the setting, tone, and characters have become a bit darker. It’s also been given a healthy dose of western flavor that I think works well with the pseudo-steampunk style.

Rusted is meant to be ongoing, as I have a few story arcs planned. Hopefully life, the universe, and everything will allow them to be told.
